Volunteer
hours:
Parents
are still asked to provide 3 volunteer hours per child registered in the
program. We are working to create more
volunteer opportunities and spread the word more effectively.
In
addition, we would like to create a database to manage the 300+ names,
addresses, phone numbers, etc for the children in our program. If you have any database management skills
that your would like to volunteer, please contact us.
Finally,
if you have any other talents or skills that we have not mentioned
specifically, but you feel would benefit the program, please feel free to
contact one of us to offer your services.
Volunteer
Opportunities include:
Coaching,
Dance Chaperones, Snack Bar, Team manager, Field set up, Field break down,
Garcia Cup Tournament.
Uniforms/Equipment:
Uniform shirts are provided by the
township, but must be returned at the end of the season. Your child will not be allowed to play
another sport for Forks until all uniforms are returned. Shin guards are required, cleats are
recommended and we request that your child bring his/her own soccer ball to
every practice.
Coaching
opportunities:
If you are interested in coaching this
fall, please contact Stephen Semanek at ssemanek@rcn.com
or (610) 253-8141. Dont worry if you
have no experience coaching. We will
provide training for an E License and/or Youth Module for all interested
coaches and assistant coaches at no charge to you. In addition, we plan to have coaches meetings
to offer support to our staff and promote communication between experienced
and new coaches. Coaches will need to be
carded and pass a security back ground check.
Communication:
Our preferred method of communication
is e-mail. It is much easier to send a
mass e-mail than to make several phone calls.
With that in mind, we ask that you provide an e-mail address that you do
check regularly, including weekends. If
you would rather not be contacted via e-mail, please indicate that at
registration so we can make appropriate arrangements.

Because
of our recent history, forfeits because we cannot field a team are not an
option for Forks. We will be kicked out
of the League if that occurs!
In-House
program for U-6:
We
will be teaming up with
·
Children
will be assigned to groups of 9-12 with a parent volunteer.
·
Practice
sessions will be on Saturday mornings for one hour starting at 9:00.
·
Each
group/team will broken down further into groups of 4-6. These children will work together with a high
school soccer player and work on skills under the supervision of Tim Hall (for
the entire group). For the first 30
minutes, Tim will lead the entire group with games and activities designed to
teach the skills necessary to build a young soccer player.
·
For
the second half of the session, the children will play a series of 5 minute
games 3 V 3 on fields designated by cones.
·
The
season will start the week after Labor Day and will last about 7 weeks. We will work to make up rain dates but with
the High School Boys game schedules that is not always possible.
·
After
the scheduled sessions with the High School Boys, weather permitting, parents
will work together to run one or two sessions on the following Saturday(s).
·
Parents
may choose to bring juice and snacks for the end of the hour session.
