January 18th FTAA Meeting Minuets

 

Meeting called to order by Melissa Walsh.

 

Treasures’ Report- Motion to accept Simon Sacra, 2nd by Gregory Wright

November Minuets – Motion to accept by Melody Talpas 2nd by Colleen Ziegenhorn

 

Sports Reports

 

Baseball- Sr. Babe Ruth you must be 19 by 1-1-09 in order to play. 

 

Basketball- 25% through the season 28 teams the games that have been postponed due to snow need to be rescheduled.

 

Cheering- In the middle of sign-ups

 

Football- Ordering new equipment and working with the recreation board on this.

 

Soccer – Sign-ups start the 24th

 

Lacrosse - No report

 

Softball – In the middle of sign-ups

 

Wrestling - 7-1 for the season

 

Committee Reports

 

Dances – 320 kids no problems. Next dance is February 20th.

 

First Aid Kits – Restocked

 

Scholarships - Form has been updated

 

Background Checks – Everyone is in

 

Guidelines - Will give the cheering guidelines to Ed to be posted on the website

 

Website – Updated

 

New Business

Scoreboards are on order and should be in by February

Fran Tone – Rules state that a commissioner cannot be on the Recreation Board.  Would like to know if membership can be reviewed and modified. 

 

Ty Corallo would like to know if we can put pictures on the website of the kids playing sports.

 

Chris Henry and Ty Corallo may have a year end party at the community center for all the players in both the softball and baseball programs instead of having individual parties for each team.

 

Add to the agenda for the February meeting to discuss raising the non-resident FTAA fee.

 

Complaint was brought by a parent about her son and the wrestling program.  There will be a meeting for the Recreation Board members and the FTAA Board members on Monday February 2nd to discuss the complaint.  It was requested that the parent and the wrestling commissioner and the coaches involved be in attendance as well.
